Hi I'm Chris. I live in Blaenau Ffestiniog up in the mountains of North Wales with my wife of 28 years, my son and our 2 Chihuahuas.
My love of photography started with landscape photography as a hillwalker and mountaineer. However it soon expended from there and now I I love all genres of photography. There's rarely a day goes by without me taking pictures. As a bit of an introvert I would never have expected that I'd take to photographing people. However as soon as I tried portraiture, the creativity of it had me hooked. I love making people see themselves in a new light. Many people say that they hate being photographed , which isn't helped by the unrealistic beauty standards portrayed by the media. However with skilled use of lighting and posing, it is so rewarding producing pictures that help people to see and love the real them.
I'm a bit of a romantic, I love a good love story. One of our favourite ways to spend an evening is curled up on the sofa watching a RomCom with a glass of wine. This carries over into my work. I love the emotion and energy of a wedding day. It's such a privilege being with a couple as they make that commitment to each other. I aim to capture all those emotional interactions between people and tell the story of your day.
Time passes incredibly fast. One moment you are getting married, the next having children, the next moment you are going to their weddings. Where did the time go?! It's all just memories. And yet these even these memories become hazy. Looking at a photograph is like a time machine, transporting you back to those precious moments. Photographs have the power to bring those memories back into focus and help us feel those emotions again.
